LOWER TUCKAHOE

By many historical measures, the Lower Tuckahoe subdivision in eastern Goochland County isn’t especially old. Construction began there in the 1960s and continued into the 1980s. But the neighborhood has an enviable pedigree. The land on which it stands was once a part of the sprawling Tuckahoe Plantation, and Thomas Jefferson called it home during much of his childhood. Fittingly, two-story Colonials and Georgians dominate the neighborhood’s architectural landscape, and its approximately 135 homes sit on expansive lots that range from one to 15 acres.
